The event took place on Thursday 17 May and was attended by over 400 employees from the site and their colleagues from Germany, Poland, China and South Africa. Hillwood property representatives, city officials and the media also attended.

RECARO Aircraft USA, LLC CEO Sunitha Vegerla opened the anniversary event by discussing the close relationship between RECARO and North Texas.

"We are proud to be established in our region and look forward to continuing to build this partnership," said Vegerla. "With the support of our managers, suppliers and other RECARO sites, our team is well positioned to navigate today's challenging market."

Dr. Mark Hiller, CEO and shareholder of RECARO Aviation, and Martin Putsch, CEO of RECARO Holding, spoke about RECARO's history and the impact of the US location on global operations.

The event capped off a week of major company meetings, including hosting an international supplier conference on Tuesday 15 May and an international board meeting on Wednesday 16 May to Thursday 17 May.

Representatives from Hillwood Properties and the City of Fort Worth were in attendance. Hillwood Properties Executive Vice President Bill Burton and Fort Worth Mayor Pro Tem Dennis Shingleton spoke about RECARO's impact on the community.

"Fort Worth is a great market, and we believe that with RECARO's partnership with our leaders, they are well positioned for growth," Councilman Shingleton said.

After the speech, staff and attendees enjoyed lunch and Texas activities including photo ops and Cowboy U, a cowboy lesson.

RECARO's Fort Worth operations began in 1998 with American Airlines as its first customer. At that time, the factory opened with one assembly line and twelve employees, and by 2004 it had already reached 60 employees. Over the next 20 years, the site saw continuous growth, doubling its working area to 248,000 square meters in 2013.

Today, RECARO employs more than 2,300 people worldwide, including more than 400 at the Fort Worth plant. In 2017, Recaro Aircraft Seating provided 41 aircraft and industrial aircraft with premium seats, including eight new customers, and provided 120,000 seats. These figures represent a 15 percent increase over 2016.
